Update v0.26


 With v0.26 comes a new loadout system, high power SGP gunpods, balance changes to make your life easier, and plenty of bug fixes.

Here are the changes I remember since v0.25d:

  • Altus F.2
    • SGP gunpods are now available, providing high velocity firepower with a serious wallop. However, they require some time to charge before firing, and are the heaviest loadout option available so far.
    • Many new loadout options are available from the revised loadout menuNew loadout selection menu
      • Weapon energy cap for all power distributions has been increased by around 30%
      • Laser cannon damage formula has been revised so that damage reduction from low power starts later
      • Firing weapons at emergency power produces more reactor heat instead of inducing less.
  • G-110 Transport
    • A bug has been fixed where the turrets attempt to target the carrier instead of the player even when they are out of range
  • Chandrasekhar
    • Hurtbox has been revised
    • Additional point defence cannons have been added, and their range has been increased. 
  • Visual effects
    • VFX have been added for when the player is travelling at a high speed. I've been aiming to keep them subtle and inobstructive, though changes may come down the line to improve them.
  • Sound effects
    • The long dreaded hull damage sound effect has been replaced with an array of better ones
  • Shipyard level
    • To make completing the mission more feasible whilst it is still structured like it is, the Chandrasekhar has both less shield and hull strength. Space bombs will come soon which will make destroying the battlecruiser much easier, but eventually totally destroying the ship will not be a required objective.
  • Misc. changes
    • By pressing O you can target the nearest mission objective
    • By pressing NUMPAD + you can simultaneously toggle thirdperson, freelook and the HUD display. Looks nice for cinematic shots.
