Update v0.28- Input rebinding


  • Input system has been updated, allowing for key rebinding with an expanded options menu
    • Partial controller support is now enabled by default but joystick support has been temporarily removed
    • I've tried my best to recreate existing functionality and gamefeel with the new Unity input system, but some quirks and bugs may slip through here and there.
    • For now, control hints and the field manual don’t read from custom bindings, so they’ll always display the default binds.

  • New gameplay options have been added for accessibility called assists.
    • Manoeuvre assist automates stabiliser usage to allow fast turns without manual toggling.
    • Auto docking automatically flies the Altus into position when docking mode is engaged. Fairly unreliable and needs more work, gives strong Tesla hands free driving vibes.
    • Missile assist lets you lock and fire guided missiles with the same keybind- press once to lock, press again to fire, or double tap to dumbfire the missile.
    • Missile autofire is an extension of missile assist that automatically fires a missile once a lock has been achieved, letting you fire and forget with a single keypress.

  • The basic VR course has had a slight makeover featuring wireframe asteroids more in line with the primitive VR aesthetic.
  • Added further lenience to the advanced VR course’s CRISIS mechanic- it’s still a very difficult level, but more consistent to beat.
  • Also added a planet model to the background of the advanced VR course.
  • Added dynamic task text to the Altus’ dashboard in basic training as a reminder.
  • Tweaked Chandrasekhar flight model for consistency with the standardflight model.
  • Fixed the mission grade display in the main menu updating when a lower grade was obtained on a replay.
  • Adjusted loadout menu layout to ensure mass text always fits and log text is not obstructed.


  • The loading screen has been changed. I liked a bit of old Altus model with non smooth shading nostalgia, but the old screen was pretty out of place at this point. I plan to add more to the loading screen soon, like game hints and a progress bar.
